This weekend Connor, along with his girlfriend Sam, will be headed to the Commonwealth & Oceania Powerlifting & Benchpress Championships 2013 in New Zealand. Connor will lift in the 83kg Unequipped Jr Division and Sam lifts in the 57kg Unequipped Jr division. Both have been working hard on their training – check out Connor’s video from his last week of training HERE. Connor is neck and neck with another guy from New Zealand, who is a silver medalist from equipped worlds this past summer. The draw will be the squat, as Connor has the advantage in the bench while the New Zealander has a better deadlift. The winner should take home the total WR as well as the commonwealth record (which Connor currently holds). Meanwhile Sam is ranked number one in her division having the best squat and bench. If all goes well she should break the commonwealth squat record, and win her division! It should be a great battle and we wish them both the best of luck. |
