What’s one interesting thing about you that other members may not know?
I live in Calgary and work in Saskatoon right across the street from the gym. Parking is not an issue for me.
What is your most memorable moment at Synergy Strength?
There have been so many! I still remember my first time walking into the gym for the first time. My first on ramp class was with Chad. He was instructing us on how to do a pull-up. I think I had to use three bands just to pull me up; green, purple and red if I am not mistaken. On August 27th this year I finally did my first pull-up workout without bands in class! A goal finally achieved.
When you talk about Synergy Strength with friends, what do you brag about?
How fantastic our facility is! There is so much to offer, and the programming is always changing. All of this converts into real lasting results, with the ability to continue growing. The way Synergy has evolved there is a realistic time commitment, a kick your butt workout and voila – a new body! I am and always will be a big supporter of Chad’s vision! And I have to be honest, it does feel good to brag about the workout we did the night before! Sometimes they are so brutal to get through that I think we have earned the right to shock people with our “superhuman abilities”!
What does #synergystrong mean to you?
I don’t have to try to be skinny any longer. Synergy strong is a way of life for each of us to be free from the age old lie that beauty is our pant/dress size. It is a group of people all working towards a common goal – to better ourselves – in an environment where each member is encouraging their neighbor. That is where this sense of community comes from. First and foremost we join to see results – but the bonus is community! I am definitely stronger than I have ever been, yet in the process I have met some fantastic people who are result oriented like me. I am grateful to have found this community.
What is you favorite aspect of Synergy Strength?
First off, the philosophy behind the programming; I don’t love change, but it is necessary if you want to see results.
Secondly, the trainers! The instruction is always thorough, and they always make the class fun.
And finally, all the strong women we have the opportunity to work-out with. Laurie M. and Val you are both very beautiful and inspirational! And a shout out to both Lecina Hicke and Tangy Epp! I have enjoyed watching these two develop since the first day I met each of them. May we all not be able to get on skinny jeans due to our massive quads!
Best Lifts:
I love burpees!
Deadlift – 225#
Squat – 165#
Bench Press – 125#
Clean – 115 #
Just a shout out as to how much I dislike Wall Balls – but I still do them.
