New COACH at Synergy Strength

Synergy Strength would like to welcome our newest member to our team of excellent coaches and consultants – CARSON SANDER.

I  was originally introduced to Carson Sander during an employment interviews that we had nearly 3 months ago.  I spoke with Carson for a lengthy period of time to get to know him, what he is all about, and what his aspirations are in the future.  He proved to be just the type of person and coach that I was looking for.  Carson and I share a lot of similar roots, having both grown up in a farming family and in a small town (which goes a long way with me), having played football, and many other sports, I felt he was going to have a lot of potential.  I was highly impressed by his professionalism, demeanour, and level of knowledge for such a young guy.  He truly impressed me with his willingness to learn and be creative and open minded with fitness, life, and other hobbies.  The greatest talents this young man has is his attitude and eagerness to learn, which are traits that are highly valued as a Synergy Strength coach.  Typically when I meet with prospective coaches we discuss many things, beyond schedule and availability, I am constantly looking for three things that drive results and progress – COMMUNITY, SKILLS, and TALENT.

TALENT – is an innate thing that individuals just have.  Its the charisma, people skills, and like-ability of the individual, Carson meets and exceeded my expectations on all aspects of talent – this guy has a bright future ahead of him and I am excited to have him with us.

SKILLS – all new coaches have tonnes to learn and lots of experience to gain, but at such a young age, this guy is already well on his way to achieving the skills we need and expect from our coaches.  Carson began with Synergy in our SPORT program and he has responded so well to our style of training that he has worked his way onto a top Synergy Spot for the 2014 Regional team and he is also the type of guy who is not shy to ask questions and continue to learn.  When I first spoke to Carson I mentioned that I respected and honoured those who continue to ask questions, engage themselves, and seek to learning and  understand more about what they do and why they do it.  Carson again has overwhelmingly passed the “test” if there was one.

COMMUNITY – This is solely the, do you get “IT” factor.  The IT is not easy to define, but it is all the things that make us (Synergy) different, unique, and purposeful.  Do you get IT is something you just feel and understand, when you actually do get IT.  This character…. he gets IT and I am super pumped about that.  I will try not to fully define IT here in this post, but for me it means the world when people do actually get IT. To see in such a short amount of time all the positive that I have seen in Carson, I was more than impressed.

Long story short – I am very excited to have Carson be entering onto our team as I think he is a fantastic addition to an already outstanding group of individuals.  I am looking forward to his future with us.

Carson will be heading up many of the evening classes, onramps, and mobility classes over the next few weeks.  We will be continuing to work with him to be the best coach he can be and I have no doubts in his ability to perform.
